Abstract

In October 2020, Jambi City experienced inflation of 0.77 percent and Kota Muara Bungo with inflation of 0.59 percent. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Jambi City was 104.87 and the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Muara Bungo City was recorded at 104.89.
Inflation in Jambi City occurred in 7 (seven) expenditure groups. Meanwhile, inflation in Muara Bungo City occurred in 2 (two) groups of goods and services expenditures due to an increase in the index.
The inflation rate for calendar year1 and year on year 2 for Jambi City this month amounted to 1.77 percent and 1.83 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, the inflation rate for calendar year and “year on year” for Muara Bungo City this month was 1.30 percent and 1.12 percent, respectively.
Of the 24 cities in Sumatra that calculated the CPI, 23 (twenty three) cities experienced inflation and 1 (one) city experienced deflation, namely the City of Pangkal Pinang. The highest inflation in Sumatra occurred in Sibolga City at 1.04 percent, which was also the highest national inflation. The lowest inflation in Sumatra occurred in Bengkulu City at 0.02 percent. Of the 90 cities that calculated the CPI in Indonesia, 66 (sixty six) cities experienced inflation and 24 (twenty four) deflation.
