Abstract

In January 2021, Jambi City experienced inflation of 0.68 percent and Muara Bungo City with inflation of 0.50 percent. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Jambi City was 106.95 and the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Muara Bungo City was recorded at 106.47.
Inflation in Jambi City occurred in 6 (six) expenditure groups. Meanwhile, inflation in Muara Bungo City occurred in 8 (eight) groups of goods and services expenditures due to an increase in the index.
The inflation rates for calendar year1 and year on year 2 for Jambi City this month were 0.68 percent and 2.95 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, the inflation rate for calendar year and “year on year” for Muara Bungo City this month was 0.50 percent and 2.08 percent, respectively.
Of the 24 cities in Sumatra that calculated the CPI, all cities in Sumatra experienced inflation. The highest inflation in Sumatra occurred in the City of Pangkal Pinang at 1.17 percent and the lowest in the city of Padang at 0.10 percent. Of the 90 cities that calculated the CPI in Indonesia, 75 (seventy five) cities experienced inflation, and 15 (fifteen) cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Mamuju City with 1.43 percent and the lowest 0.02 percent occurred in Balikpapan and Ambon City.
