Abstract

In April 2020, Kota Jambi and Kota Muara Bungo experienced deflation, respectively 0.66 percent and 0.29 percent. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) of Jambi City was 103.30 and Muara Bungo City was 103.79.
Deflation in Jambi City occurred in 4 (four) expenditure groups. Likewise in Muara Bungo City, deflation occurred in 4 (four) groups of goods and services expenditure due to a decrease in index.
The inflation rate for calendar year 1 and "year on year" 2 Jambi City this month amounted to 0.24 percent and 1.41 percent, respectively. While the rate of inflation in the calendar year and "year on year" of Muara Bungo City were respectively 0.24 percent and 1.51 percent in April 2020.
Of the 24 cities in Sumatra that calculate CPI, 4 (four) cities experience inflation and 20 (twenty) cities deflation. The highest inflation in Sumatra occurred in Tembilahan City by 0.43 percent and the highest deflation occurred in Pangkal Pinang City by 0.92 percent, and at the same time became the highest deflation in Indonesia in April 2020.
Of the 90 cities that calculate CPI in Indonesia, 39 (thirty nine) cities experienced inflation and 51 (fifty one) cities deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Bau-Bau City by 0.88 percent and the lowest by 0.02 percent occurred in the City of Balikpapan, Cirebon and Depok.
