Abstract

In May 2020, Kota Jambi and Kota Muara Bungo experienced inflation, each by 0.29 percent and 0.49 percent. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) of Jambi City is 103.60 and Muara Bungo City is 104.30.
Inflation in the city of Jambi occurred in 4 (four) expenditure groups. Whereas in Muara Bungo City, inflation occurred in 6 (six) groups of goods and services expenditure due to an increase in index.
The inflation rate for calendar year 1 and "year on year" 2 Jambi City this month was 0.53 percent and 1.15 percent, respectively. While the rate of inflation in the calendar year and "year on year" of Muara Bungo City were respectively 0.73 percent and 0.55 percent in May 2020.
Of the 24 cities in Sumatra that calculate CPI, 22 (twenty two) cities experience inflation and 2 (two) cities deflation. The highest inflation in Sumatra occurred in Tanjung Pandan City at 1.20 percent and the highest deflation occurred in Metro City at 0.35 percent.
Of the 90 cities that calculate CPI in Indonesia, as many as 67 (sixty seven) cities experienced inflation and 23 (twenty three) cities deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan City at 1.20 percent and the lowest at 0.01 percent occurred in Tanjung Pinang City, Bogor and Madiun. While the highest deflation occurred in Luwuk City by 0.39 percent, and the lowest in Manado City by 0.01 percent.
