Abstract

In January 2019 the city of Jambi experienced a deflation of 0.51 percent and the City of Muara Bungo inflation of 0.29 percent. The Jambi City Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 133.89 and the Muara Bungo City Consumer Price Index (CPI) was recorded at 133.21.
Deflation in Jambi City occurred in 2 (two) groups of goods and services due to a decrease in the index, and inflation in the city of Muara Bungo occurred in 6 (six) groups of goods and services due to an increase in the index.
The inflation rate for calendar year 1 in Jambi City this month was -0.51 percent, and the inflation rate for "year on year" 2 was 1.58 percent. While the inflation rate for the Muara Bungo City calendar this month was 0.29 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate was 2.50 percent.
Of the 23 cities in Sumatra that calculated CPI, 18 (eighteen) experienced inflation. The highest inflation in Sumatra occurred in Tanjung Pandan City at 1.23 percent and the lowest occurred in Pematangsiantar City by 0.01 percent. Of 82 cities that calculated CPI in Indonesia, as many as 73 (seventy three) cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation in the city of Tanjung Pandan was 1.23 percent and the lowest occurred in the City of Pematangsiantar by 0.01 percent.
